The City of London is situated in Greater London – which extends into Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Middlesex and Buckinghamshire!
London is both above and beneath – a metropolis above ground and a hidden world beneath.
London is here and there – in your head, in your memory, in your heart and surely most people at some time or another have seen, heard of, smelt, read about or experienced London at least once in their lives.
Whether it’s central, north, south, east or west – all of London’s regions are the best; London is everywhere, and you will hear the name “London” spoken in all four regions of the United Kingdom; all 32 Boroughs, and in hundreds of languages around the world.

to name but a few. There are three boroughs that do not use the term “London Borough” in their names: Westminster which is termed City Of Westminster as it has City status; Kingston upon Thames, Kensington and Chelsea; which are termed “Royal Borough”, due to their Royal status
The Queen has bestowed the status of Royal Borough upon Greenwich, to take effect in the year of the Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
