If your visit does not coincide with a day when they are changing the guard at Buckingham Palace you cna always head for Horse Guards Parade where the Queen’s Life Guard change daily at 11:00 Monday to Saturday and 10:00 on Sundays come rain or shine.
It is a lot less crowded than in front of the Palace and there are no railings between you and the ceremony.

Between 6 hours and 3 Days in London you have the Capitol well and truly covered.
