Cleopatra’s Needle; the popular name for the Ancient Egyptian obelisk re-erected on London’s Victoria Embankment. Although the needle is a genuine Ancient Egyptian obelisk, it is somewhat misnamed as it has no particular connection with Queen Cleopatra VII of Egypt, and was already over a thousand years old in her lifetime.
