Wow!! Seriously there is no place like London on New Year’s Eve, and this year was no exception!!!
By the time I arrived at Westminster Bridge all the best places had already gone…you snooze; you lozzzee!!! You gotta get there at about 4pm in the afternoon to secure a good spot. However, I wasn’t too fussed as I had really wanted to be on Victoria Embankment and positioned in front of the London Eye if possible. Hmmm….like I said….you gotta get there early. I walked or should I say struggled along the embankment that was already packed and lo and behold the length of the embankment was already jam-packed.
However, I did spy a tiny gap that for sure I could squeeze into, which I did
The couple that I stood next to were really lovely, from the Bristol area and their first time in London for New Year’s Eve = much excitement.
By now the place was filling up real fast and the crowds were pushing and pushing… but, the excitement, the crowds, the cheering, the countdown, Big Ben’s chimes, the music and finally the fireworks!!! Whoaaa..the fireworks….this year was definitely bigger and better than previous years…so loud the sound reverberated through your body. Magnificent. So very glad I planned to be there. Of course the photos never do justice…but nevertheless, here they are
