This is it….with only days to go and if you are planning on visiting for 3 Days in London from June 3rd to 5th, then the fun has already begun; the bunting is up, flags are flying, street parties are planned, there are crowns galore
and everyone (well nearly everyone) is getting excited for the extended UK Bank Holiday and the fantastic festivities planned for the weekend.
And the reason for these celebrations and jubilations is of course Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. I made my way into London central yesterday to catch a glimpse of the preparations and perhaps of the Queen; I saw one but not the other, although I could tell Her Majesty was home by the Royal Standard flying above Buckingham Palace.
The city is looking absolutely fabulous; so gay and pretty with flags and bunting already lining the streets. The Mall
is decked out in flags, as are Regent Street, Oxford Street and Leicester Square amongst others and individual flags are flying from buildings; there is an air of pending excitement.
The area in front of Buckingham Palace has been transformed beyond all recognition in preparation for the big concert that will be held there on Monday night for the very lucky few; 10,000 ticket holders – 1.2million people applied! Patriotism is alive and well in London & the U.K.
The river is still looking reasonably unpopulated, but that will all change in the next few days as the 1,000 boats taking part in the Thames River Pageant start arriving for the big day on Sunday.

the River Thames in front of the London Eye and Big Ben/Houses of Parliament still looking quite unpopulated
I strolled about the city, camera in hand and snapped a few of the things I saw along the way.
London is oh so ready for a party!!!
Why not join us as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our reigning Monarch; Queen Elizabeth II
